Bangalore: Refusing to join issue, Karnataka on December 12 said it did not accuse
Tamil Nadu special task force (STF) of having a hand in an encounter leading to the
death of Janata Dal – United (JD-U) leader H Nagappa while being in the captivity of
forest brigand Veerappan.
Karnataka's position is made clear in the letter Chief Minister S M Krishna has
written to his Tamil Nadu counterpart Jayalalithaa in reply to the charges made by
her accusing the state's Home Minister Mallikarjun Kharge of attributing Tamil Nadu
STF's role in the death of Nagappa.
