Mysore: Forest brigand Veerappan had changed his location at least 34 times when he
held Janata Dal-United (JD-U) leader H Nagappa hostage, a diary maintained by the
former minister and recovered by the Special Task Force (STF) has revealed, sources
said.
Nagappa, who religiously maintained a diary, has also noted that the brigand never
allowed him to go for a walk or jogging but used to make him sit all the time, the
sources said.
The STF accompanying Nagappa's family, which had gone to the spot where his body was
recovered to perform 'pooja' on December 11, stumbled upon his diary and five
tumblers apart from the cartridges, suspected to be of AK-47 rifle.
According to sources, a fairness cream and hair dye were also found at the spot,
indicating the bandit after all likes some good things too.
Nagappa, who went through harrowing days during his captivity, has also noted in the
diary that the bandit never used to provide breakfast to him and all that he would
get was lunch and dinner in the evening.
Some medicines, clothes used by Nagappa and mosquito repellent were also found at
the spot, the sources said.
Five tumblers found may indicate the number of people present, the sources said.
