Kalam in Hyderabad to inaugurate National Games

Hyderabad: President A P J Abdul Kalam arrived in Hyderabad this afternoon on a day's visit to Andhra Pradesh, during which he is scheduled to inaugurate the National Games and an entrepreneurship development centre.

The President was accorded a ceremonial reception at the Hyderabad airport.

He was received by Governor Dr C Rangarajan, Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu, his Cabinet colleagues, Union Ministers Bandaru Dattatreya and Vikram Verma City Mayor T Krishna Reddy and other officials.

Kalam later left for Pragatinagar in Ranga Reddy district by a helicopter, where he will inaugurate the Centre for Entrepreneurship Development Institute.

He will then proceed to Gachibowli on the outskirts of city to inaugurate the 32nd National Games.

The President will also attend a programme at International Crops Research Institute for Semi-Arid (ICISAT) at Patancheru in neighbouring Medak District late in the evening, and visit the Centre for Cellular and Molecular Biology (CCMB) tonight.
