Mysore: A Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF) company has arrived at Mysore on its way to M M Hills to further strengthen the intensified hunt for forest brigand Veerappan following the death of Janata Dal –United leader H Nagappa in his custody.

Equipped with 'INSAS', a powerful weapon used in guerrilla operations, the company would co-ordinate the joint operations by the special task forces (STFs) of Karnataka and Tamil Nadu, according to official sources.

The Karnataka government had requested the Centre to lend its support in the operations to hunt down Veerappan, which were suspended after the kidnap of Nagappa by the bandit.

Karnataka and Tamil Nadu STFs are already carrying out stepped up operations to flush out Veerappan.
