Conspirators to kill Modi remanded to custody

Ahmedabad: Three persons, including a Lashkar-e-Toiba militant, allegedly involved in a conspiracy to kill Gujarat caretaker Chief Minister Narendra Modi, Vishwa Hindu Parishad (VHP) leader Pravin Togadia and others, arrested in New Delhi on August 28, were brought to Ahmedabad on December 14 and remanded to 10 days police custody.

Deputy commissioner of police (crime) D G Vanjhara said prime accused Shahid Baxi had established terror network via Internet from Juhapura area while visiting the city.

The other accused, Farhan Ahmed Ali alias Justaq Ahmed Vali and Hafiz Mohammed Tariq who hail from Moradabad, Uttar Pradesh, were also involved in anti-national activities and were arrested by Delhi police on Baxi's disclosure.

The culprits during interrogation by Delhi police disclosed hatching a conspiracy to kill Modi, Togadia and several other leaders.
