Modi hopeful of BJP retaining power in Gujarat
New Delhi: Gujarat Chief Minister Narendra Modi on December 14 night said he expects Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) to retain power in the state, where the counting of votes for the Assembly elections begins on December 15.

Conspirators to kill Modi remanded to custody
Ahmedabad: Three persons, including a Lashkar-e-Toiba militant, allegedly involved in a conspiracy to kill Gujarat caretaker Chief Minister Narendra Modi, Vishwa Hindu Parishad (VHP) leader Pravin Togadia and others, arrested in New Delhi on August 28, were brought to Ahmedabad on December 14 and remanded to 10 days police custody.
