Ahmedabad: Congress candidate against Chief Minister Narendra Modi in Maninagar, Yatin Oza, on December 15 said that "hindutva" wave swept not only his constituency but the entire state to put Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) ahead of his party in the Assembly elections in Gujarat.

Accepting defeat, he said in a Democracy people's verdict has to be respected but added that apart from the "hindutva" factor misuse of government machinery and money power were responsible for Modi and BJP's victory.
