Jammu: Pakistani troops fired mortar shells on Indian defence establishments and border hamlets along the line of control (LoC) in Rajouri, Poonch, Jammu, Kargil and Siachen sectors of Jammu and Kashmir, official sources said on December 15.

While the shelling, which started on December 14 night stopped in most of the areas by December 15 morning, it was still continuing in Bhawani and Jhanghar areas of Rajouri sector, the sources said.

However, there was no loss of life or damage to property in the shelling, the sources said.

There were also reports of low intensity small arms firing along the international border in R S Pura, Samba, Hiranagar and Ramgarh areas in Jammu and Kathua sectors, the sources added.

Meanwhile, the Indian troops retaliated by targeting the Pakistani posts instrumental in firing from across the border, the sources said, adding there were no reports about casualties on the other side.
