Experiment of 'Hindutva lab' to be repeated: VHP
Sunday, December 15 2002 18:14 Hrs (IST)

Gujarat election results
Jaipur: BJP's victory in Gujarat polls would be a turning point in Indian history as the experiment of 'Hindutva lab' would be repeated in Delhi via Rajasthan, VHP (Vishwa Hindu Parishad) international general secretary Praveen Togadia said on December 15.

"Hindutva lab has started functioning in Jaipur as the BJP won all the three seats which went to bypolls in Rajasthan and the final result will come by next Assembly elections in the state due in 2003," he told a press conference in Jaipur.

"When 'madrasas' opened in parts of the country could train jihadis and educate fundamentalism, why can't the VHP set up its Hindutva lab?" Togadia, camping in Rajasthan for the last two days, asked.

"Minorities should decide themselves how they want to live in India...VHP will not decide their future...it is a question of co-existence in the Hindu rashtra," Togadia said.

"The creation of Hindu rashtra is the real development in the Indian society," he said.

Proposing to revive the issue of Ram Mandir by mobilising Hindus, he said, "Hindu rashtra could be expected in next two years...we will change the Indian history and Pakistan's geography by then."

Both the BJP and Congress have to change their outlook on Hindu rashtra, he said, adding there was a need to change the mindset of minorities and the Congress has to change its appeasement policy.

Likening Congress to Muslim League, he said the "self-claimed secular Congress lost in Gujarat and Rajasthan because of its anti-hindutva campaign and appeasing of the minorities."
