Jammu: Security forces foiled an infiltration bid along the line of control and
gunned down four ultras in Rajouri district on December 15 night, official sources
said on December 16.
A group of infiltrating militants was challenged by security forces at Peerbadesar
area in Laam sub-sector of Rajouri late December 15 evening, the sources said,
adding in the subsequent encounter which continued for couple of hours, four ultras
were shot dead.
The search operation in the area was continuing and the details of recoveries and
identity of slain militants are awaited, they said.
In another counter-terrorism operation, security forces eliminated one ultra in
general area of Surankot in Poonch district on December 15 evening.
One AK rifle and three magazines were recovered from the killed militant, the
sources said.
