CBI asks Italian govt to deport Quattrocchi
Monday, December 16 2002 20:35 Hrs (IST)

New Delhi: Stung by reports that Bofors case accused Ottavio Quattrocchi has left Malaysia for Italy, the CBI tonight (Dec 16) approached the Italian government to arrest and deport him to Malaysia for facing extradition trial.

CBI (Central Bureau of Investigation) has also requested the Malaysian authorities to ensure that the Italian businessman surrendered his passport as directed by the Court of Appeal on an Indian petition against the High Court verdict throwing out India's case for his extradition to stand trial, highly placed sources in the investigative agency said in New Delhi.
