Ahmedabad: Police fired at least one round in air to disperse two groups indulging
in stone-pelting at Panigate area of Vadodara on December 16 morning.
The situation was under control and patrolling was intensified in all sensitive
areas to prevent any further incident of violence, police said.
Meanwhile, curfew from sensitive Raopura area of Vadodara city was lifted on
December 16 morning where violence broke out on December 15 during Assembly election
victory marches by Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) activists in some sensitive
areas.
The curfew was imposed only as a precautionary measure and there was no tension in
the area, officials said.
One person was killed and 17 others injured, one of them in police firing, after
