Bangalore: Mysore city police commissioner Chandrashekhar, who faced criticism from
some quarters over his position on the alleged "Mysore sex scandal" linked with
three Karnataka High Court judges, was on December 16 transferred without being
given any posting, official sources said.
After the controversy broke out, Chandrashekhar had denied any such incident had
taken place, inviting criticism, and has been maintaining that there was no attempt
on his part to cover up the alleged episode.
Facing the allegation that he was trying to "hush up" the incident, Chandrashekhar
had recently appealed to the High Court to order an independent enquiry into
the "Mysore episode".
Bangalore Metropolitan Transport Corporation (BMTC) managing director Bipin
Gopalakrishna has been posted in place of Chandrashekhar, the sources said.
