Bill to curb criminalisation in politics passed
New Delhi: In a major step to curb criminalisation and corruption in politics, Lok Sabha on December 17 passed a Bill requiring candidates for Parliamentary or Assembly polls to disclose their criminal antecedents as also to declare their assets and liabilities after being elected.
'Foreign exchange facilities further liberalised'
New Delhi: The RBI (Reserve Bank of India) has permitted a person, who is resident in India, to open, hold and maintain with an authorised dealer an account known as Resident Foreign Currency (Domestic) Account.
Rashtrapathi Bhavan area declared no-fly zone
New Delhi: Rashtrapathi Bhavan and its surrounding areas, Tarapur Nuclear Plant, Aviation Research Centre - Bhubaneshwar, Delhi and Mathura oil refineries and the 'Tower of Silence' at the Malabar Hill at Mumbai had been declared as "No-Fly zones", Rajya Sabha was informed on December 17.
