Srinagar: Four persons including three Border Security Force (BSF) personnel were
injured when militants lobbed grenades at a vehicle of security forces and a Central
Reserve Police Force (CRPF) camp in the Kashmir Valley on December 18, official
sources said.
The BSF personnel were injured when militants hurled a grenade on their vehicle at
Yaripora in Anantanag district around 2.10 pm (IST). The vehicle was damaged in the
blast.
Militants lobbed a grenade at a CRPF camp in a hotel in the heart of the city in
Srinagar, which fell short of its target and exploded injuring a shopkeeper, the
sources said.
The explosion in Pamposh hotel on the busy residency road triggered panic among the
people, they said.
CRPF personnel rushed out of the camp and fired a shot in which no one was injured,
the sources said adding that 12 people were detained for questioning and a search
operation was launched in the area.
However, eyewitnesses claimed that the CRPF personnel beat up several people,
