Police seizes detonators at TN railway station
Wednesday, December 18 2002 14:17 Hrs (IST)

Salem: Police on December 18 seized a large quantity of detonators at a railway station in Tamil Nadu's Salem district.

According to police, about 300 detonators, packed in three boxes, were found near the water pumping room at the Bommedi Railway station.

Further investigation was on to find out who kept the boxes at the station.

Security has been beefed up at railway stations in the region and passengers and their baggage are being subjected to checks after the recent encounters with naxalites in neighbouring Dharmapuri District.
