Ahmedabad: The two-man riot inquiry commission will visit the ill-fated S-6 bogie of
the Sabarmati Express on December 22, along with a technical team of the railways at
the Godhra railway station, where 58 'Ram Sevaks' were killed on February 27.
Justice K G Shah (retired), heading the inquiry commission, on December 21 said the
purpose of the visit is to ascertain burning pattern of the coach, especially after
the commission has collected sufficient evidence about the incident during the
inquiry.
The commission will visit Vadodara the next day to meet the district authorities for
making necessary arrangements to hold the next evidence recording meeting for all
those affected during the post-Godhra communal violence in these areas, he said.
Justice Shah urged the people to approach them fearlessly and depose honestly about
the events to the commission.
The commission hoped to complete the probe and submit the report by the end of the
extended deadline of June 4, 2003 he added.
