Bangalore: Bodies of 12 victims of the ill-fated derailed Bangalore-bound train near Ramalingayapalli in Andhra Pradesh's Kurnool district were yet to be identified, a railway spokesman said.

The spokesman said Mohankumar from Bangalore was wrongly identified and pronounced as dead during the rescue operations and it has now been confirmed that he is alive and that he contacted his family.

He said 18 bodies had been recovered from the derailed coaches.
