Ahmedabad: Police lobbed teargas shells to disperse mobs of two communities, indulging in heavy stone throwing in the sensitive Dabgarwad locality in Dariapur area on January 14 following a skirmish over kite flying, official sources said.

However, injuries to people or damage to property, if any, were not known immediately, police told reporters.

"A quarrel over kite flying snowballed into violence and people from both communities resorted to stone throwing," a senior police official said.
