Lucknow: Accusing the NDA (National Democratic Alliance) government at the Centre of
trying to "create a fear psychosis among the people" by talking of internal and
external dangers, Samajwadi Party (SP) on January 14 asked Deputy Prime Minster L K
Advani to make clear who was responsible for the threat to the internal
security.
"The NDA government is turning a blind eye to the provocative statements of the VHP
(Vishwa Hindu Parishad) as well as the distribution of tridents by Sangh Parivar
outfits in Rajasthan," SP chief Mulayam Singh Yadav told reporters in
Lucknow.
"The Deputy Prime Minister and the Centre are trying to create a fear psychosis among
the people by talking of internal and external threats.......He (Advani) should make
it clear who poses the threat to internal security," he said.
"Advani's statement on January 13 (describing the threat to internal security as
extremely grave and war-like) clearly shows that the Centre has failed to resolve the
problems facing the country," Yadav alleged.
The Opposition and the people of the country had supported the government during the
Kargil war and terrorist attack on Akshardhan and Raghunath temples and Jammu and
Kashmir Assembly, the SP leader said.
Yadav said his party would soon launch an agitation "to oust' the NDA government at
the Centre.
