SENSEX moves irregularly on mixed trading pattern
Tuesday, January 14 2003 11:19 Hrs (IST)

Mumbai: The SENSEX opened on a promising note and later moved irregularly in a narrow range at early stages in line with a mixed pattern of trading on the Bombay Stock Exchange (BSE) on January 14 on alternate bouts of buying and selling.

The BSE sensitive index opened moderately higher at 3,334.94 as against January 13 close of 3,327.16 and later fluctuated in a small range between 3,338.29 and 3,321.63 before being quoted at 3,327.99 at 10.30 am (IST).

Information Technology major Infosys Technologies, which was battered in the last couple of sessions, witnessed a marked rally on fairly good buying by investors.

However, RIL, ITC, Telco and a few others were quoted lower due to selling pressure.

Meanwhile, the Dow Jones industrial average and the NASDAQ composite index showed small variations due to investors' cautious approach ahead of last quarter earnings and continued warnings from analysts about corporate and consumer spending.
