Kochi: Prime Minister Atal Behari Vajpayee arrived in Kochi on January 17 night on a brief visit to Kerala.

Vajpayee will be inaugurating the Global Investors Meet (GIM) at Kochi on January 18, which is the only function being attended by the Prime Minister.

Union Labour Minister Sahib Singh Varma, Union Minister of State for Urban Development O Rajagopal and deputy chairman of the Planning Commission K C Pant accompanied him from Delhi.

The Prime Minister was received at the Naval airport by the state Governor Sikander Bhakt, Chief Minister A K Antony and his Cabinet colleagues. Kochi mayor C M Dinesh Mani was also present.
