Bangalore: Running a government in Indian conditions is very tough, and meditation
helps him to have a "balance" to deal with pulls and counterpulls from different
quarters, says Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu.
Naidu said on January 19 he has been practicing meditation for many years now and it
has been extremely useful in keeping a "balance in dealing with things".
"You know how difficult it is to run a government in Indian conditions," commented
Naidu, who was speaking on "Spirituality and Science" in the World Conference on
Spiritual Regeneration and Human Values.
"There are so many pulls and counterpulls…from politicians, bureaucrats...so much
traditional approach...in our efforts to provide better living standards to people,"
he said.
Naidu expressed the view that politicians in India are working under tough
conditions and they are under more tension and face more problems than other
professions in their pursuit to retain power and grab more.
According to him, "Weakness is the mind, which creates problems and desires. When
you try to fulfill desires, you make so many mistakes."
