Kottayam: Union Petroleum Minister Ram Naik has said the Prime Minister A B Vajpayee
and Deputy Prime Minister L K Advani complemented each other very well 'like Lord
Rama and Lord Krishna'.
Inaugurating the party's newly constructed hall in Kottayam last night (Jan 19), Naik
said no non-Congress Prime Minister had continued for more than three years but
"Atalji is an exception".
Naik also referred to Vajpayee's formula for the growth of a party. The first was
'sanghatan' or organise in which the workers would organise in a 'nice way and keep
good
relationship'. Sangharsh or struggle for the cause of the people was the second
factor, while samrakshana, the nurturing of the party for constructive work, was the
third factor.
He said when he took charge as the Petroleum Minister, the number of applicants for
LPG connection was 1.10 crore. So far 3.30 crore connections had been
allotted.
Vajpayee government had achieved many things, which the Congress could not during the
last 40 years, he added.
BJP (Bharatiya Janata Party) district president B Radhakrishna Menon presided over
the meeting.
