Ahmedabad: Expressing a firm resolve to strengthen the foundation for a "modern
Gujarat of 21st Century", Chief Minister Narendra Modi on January 25 said the state
would be the "focus of country's economic and industrial development" in days to
come.
"Gujarat is going to be focus of country's economic and industrial development after
the massive mandate given to the BJP (Bharatiya Janata Party) ushered in a renewed
vigour and self-confidence among masses," Modi said in his message to people on the
eve of 54th Republic Day.
He said the Constitution has attached a sense of duty along with the rights given to
all citizens and if every citizen performs his duty well, everyone's rights were
bound to be protected.
"People of Gujarat have displayed their resilience to the world by braving all
calamities," he said.
Modi expressed hope that "surging ahead with duty-bound attitude", the foundation of
modern-day Gujarat will be strengthened.
