Pratapgarh: District police on January 26 raided the residence of jailed independent
MLA Raghuraj Pratap Singh alias Raja Bhiaya, and recovered a huge quantity of
jewellery and silver utensils.
Station House Officer of Kunda police station Paramhans Mishra told reporters that
senior officials accompanied by a large number of security personnel raided Raja
Bhaiya's residence, 'Bhadri House', in search of fire arms.
During the search a huge quantity of jewellery and silver utensils, which were buried
underground, were recovered, he said, adding no fire arm had yet been recovered from
there.
The search was still continuing, Mishra said.
Raja Bhaiya's mother Manjul Raje was present in the house, he said.
The legislator's father Uday Pratap Singh was arrested on January 25 and an AK 56
rifle, some cartridges and huge quantity of explosives were allegedly recovered from
his possession.
Raja Bhaiya and his cousin Akshai Pratap Singh, an MLC, were already languishing in
jail after being arrested earlier.
