Tuesday, January 28 103 20:26 Hrs (IST)

New Delhi: Union Ministers Uma Bharati, Jana Krishnamurthy, Rita Verma and Nikhil Choudhary have been asked to resign from the Union Council of Ministers ahead of tomorrow's (Jan 29) reconstitution of the Cabinet, BJP (Bharatiya Janata Party) sources said.

Their resignations have been reportedly sought in order to enable Prime Minister Atal Behari Vajpayee undertake a reshuffle and reconstitution of his ministry on January 29 evening.

It now appears that BJP general secretary Arun Jaitley and former Health Minister C P Thakur are also most likely to be re-inducted into the Cabinet, party sources said.

Uma Bharati is already understood to have sent her resignation to the Prime Minister, they said.
