Ahmedabad: Prime Minister Atal Behari Vajpapee on January 28 dedicated to the nation the first phase of national expressway between Ahmedabad-Vadodara by pressing a button at the toll tax 'naka' on the outskirts of Ahmedabad.

The 43-km stretch of the expressway, a part of the National Highways Development Project – the dream of the Prime minister, is commonly known as North-South-East- West Corridors.

The Deputy Prime Minister L K Advani was the chief guest at the function while Union Minister of State (independent charge) for Road Transport and Highways major general B C Khandur, AVSM (retired) presided over the function.
