Allahabad: Accusing the "secularists" of supporting the minorities "enabling
Pakistan's ISI to spread its network across the country", VHP (Vishwa Hindu Parishad)
on January 28 called for rooting them out to build a powerful India keeping in view
the sentiments of "the majority Hindus".
"Secularists have weakened the very fabric of the country since independence by
espousing the cause of the minorities and coming in the way of strong actions against
terrorists and anti-national elements," VHP international president Ashok Singhal
alleged while talking to reporters in Allahabad.
"Their silent support to the minorities have enabled Pakistan's ISI to spread its
network across the country and emboldened terrorists to attack Parliament and temples
in various states," he alleged.
"The Hindus, comprising about 80 per cent of the population, have become second class
citizens in their own country and those espousing their cause are being branded as
communal and sectarian," Singhal claimed.
The majority community would not keep quite for long and a concerted effort would be
launched to remove the obstacles put by the secularists in their goal of a "Hindu
rashtra", he said.
Singhal, however, said the Hindus have no reservations against the Muslims and
Christians who share their vision for building a strong country. "The nationalist
Muslims and Christians are an integral part of the nation. But those indulging in
conversion or harbouring anti-national loyalties have no place in the country," he
added.
