Lucknow: The 23-member Congress Legislature Party (CLP) group in Uttar Pradesh
appeared heading for a split on January 28 with six of its members meeting Speaker
Kesri Nath Tripathi and expressing faith and confidence in the leadership of Chief
Minister Mayawati.
One of the Congress members said two more Members of Legislative Assembly (MLAs)
would join their group later in the day taking their number to eight.
Those who met the speaker were K Upadhyay, Shyam Narain Tewari, Kasim Ali, Virender
Singh Bundela, Vinod Kumar Singh and Dinesh Singh.
