Allahabad: VHP (Vishwa Hindu Parishad) on January 28 asked the Centre to hand over
the undisputed land at Ayodhya for construction of Ram temple by February 22 and
warned of "drastic" action by saints if it failed to do so.
"The Centre must hand over the undisputed portion of the land at Ayodhya before
February 22 for Ram temple construction failing which the sadhus would be compelled
to take drastic actions for its acquisition," VHP international president Ashok
Singhal told reporters in Allahabad.
However, he did not elaborate on the drastic action which he threatened the saints
would take.
Singhal said the hindrances in temple construction would be discussed threadbare at
the three-day Dharam Sansad meeting to be held in Delhi from February 22, the
deadline set for the Centre.
