Washington: Close on the heels of an American magazine degrading Mahatma Gandhi,
another attempt to humiliate the Father of the Nation has been made by MTV USA
depicting his animated clone who sports ear-rings.
MTV, one of the most popular music channels in the world, has come out with a series
of spoofs on Gandhi and other legends including Gautam Buddha, Jesus Christ, Abraham
Lincoln, John F Kennedy and Thomas Edison, raising tempers.
An episode guide at the network's website describes Gandhi as "stupid enough to take
a swim in its piranha-infested moat," where 'Special Education' kids are ostracised
and imprisoned.
Sarcastically describing the attempts as a part of the world's most expensive and
ambitious cloning project, the website said the project is about a group of
scientists
creating clones from DNA extracts of dead people who have changed the course of human
history.
The animated series on the spoofs titled "Clone High USA", will soon be aired by MTV
USA even as the Indian arm of the channel has reportedly distanced itself from the
programme, saying they are clueless about it and are independent of MTV USA.
Earlier, the latest edition of 'Maxim', a lifestyle magazine, in an alleged humour
article depicted a strapping man in a "Muscle" T-shirt beating up an image of Gandhi.
