Srinagar: One person was killed and 18 others, including three jawans, injured in two separate incidents of blasts carried out by militants in Kashmir valley on January 31, official sources said.

One Aijaz Ahmad was killed when militants hurled a grenade at a security forces' patrol party. But it missed the target and landed on a roadside and exploded at Lal Chowk in South Kashmir Anantnag district, the sources said.

Twelve other civilians were injured in the blast and referred to hospitals for treatment, they said.

In Baramulla district's Pattan area, militants triggered an improvised explosive device (IED) in the afternoon in which three Army personnel and three civilians were injured, the sources said.

No militant outfit has claimed responsibility for the attacks so far.
