US Army Chief to visit India on February 3

New Delhi: US Army Chief General Eric K Shinseki will be extensively briefed about continuing infiltration from across the line of control in Jammu and Kashmir during his brief visit to India on February 3.

Shinseki, the first US Army Chief to visit India, will be apprised about the security situation in the region soon after his one-to-one meeting with his Indian counterpart General N C Vij.

During his day-long stay, Gen Shinseki will also hold talks with the Chairman, Chief of Staff Committee, and Naval Chief Admiral Madhvendera Singh and the Vice Chief of the Air Staff.

He will also call on Defence Minister George Fernandes before leaving for Philippines on February 4, an official release said.
