'Nations fighting terror must not back terror states'
Saturday, February 1 2003 11:06 Hrs (IST)

Bangkok: Expressing disappointment at the United States' approach towards Pakistan, India on February 1 said the nations, which had sworn to fight terrorism should not help any state that patronises the menace directly or indirectly.

Deputy Prime Minister L K Advani, at the end of his visit to Thailand, told reporters, "We expect countries which have sworn to fight terrorism not to help any state, which patronises terrorism directly or indirectly, financially or otherwise."

Advani charged Pakistan with trying to maximise the spread of terrorism activities in different parts of the world.

Before leaving for Singapore, the Deputy Prime Minister reiterated India's stand that there would be no bilateral talks with Pakistan till it dismantled the terrorist network and stopped cross-border terrorism.
