London: The best of Indian fashion design and bridal jewellery were on show at the
two-day Asian wedding exhibition 2003 at the spacious Wembley exhibition hall in
London.
Over 20,000 people attended the mega event, considered as the most spectacular Asian
fashion and wedding display outside India.
Following Britain's Bollywood boom and the Asian influence on this season's trends,
the Asian wedding exhibition offered a rich feast of fashion and style and all that
was needed for an Indian wedding including a variety of 'pans' – 'Banarasi
pan', 'Calcutti pan' and 'khara pan'.
With over 200 wedding professionals participating in the show, from jewellery to
fashion, beauty, catering, florists, photographers and even venues, there was
something for everyone. The event concluded on February 2 night.
One of the star attractions at the exhibition was Zaynab's range of cosmetics.
Zaynab has worked on numerous catwalk shows, Bollywood films and her celebrity
clients include film stars Hrithik Roshan, Kareena Kapoor, Mahima Chaudhury, Twinkle
Khanna, Namrata Shirdokar and Diana Hayden.
The show, which is now in its ninth year, is the brainchild of style guru Yogesh
Kanani who said, "The fashion shows delivered the highest standard to inspire the
brides, grooms and the rest of the family to look radiant on their most memorable
day." The stunning Asian fashions on display was some of the best that could be seen
anywhere in the world.
Famous Indian fashion outfit RCKC displayed new collections by Anamika
Khanna, alongside creations by Neeta Lulla, the designer responsible for dressing
Aishwarya Rai so exquisitely in India's Oscar-nominated film 'Devdas'.
