Kolkata: Foreign Ministers of India and Bangladesh will shortly discuss the issue of stranded illegal immigrants on the Indo-Bangla border, Deputy Prime Minister L K Advani said on February 5 after a meeting with West Bengal Chief Minister Buddhadev Bhattacharya.

On a transit halt while returning from Singapore, Advani met Bhattacharya at the airport and discussed the stand off following Dhaka's refusal to accept the migrants.

Advani told reporters that he had talked to External Affairs Minister Yashwant Sinha on February 5. A meeting of senior officials was held in which BSF (Border Security Force) Director General Ajay Raj Sharma was also present.

The Deputy Prime Minister said Bangladesh High Commissioner in Delhi Tufail Karim Haider would be meeting Sinha.
