New Delhi: Former Union minister B Janardhana Poojary was on February 6 appointed the new president of Karnataka Pradesh Congress Committee (KPCC) succeeding Allum Veerbhadrappa who had expressed his desire to relinquish the post six months back.

AICC (All India Congress Committee) general secretary incharge of the state Vayalar Ravi said in a release that party chief Sonia Gandhi had approved Poojary's appointment, ending a month-long suspense for the post.
