Chennai: Defence Minister George Fernandes called on Marumalarchi Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam (MDMK) leader Vaiko on February 7 afternoon at Vellore central jail where he is under detention as a Prevention of Terrorism Act (POTA) detenue, police sources said.

The meeting lasted nearly 45 minutes.
