Vizianagaram: Two naxalites, involved in killings and blasting of government
properties in Andhra Pradesh, Orissa and Madhya Pradesh, were arrested and booked
under Prevention of Terrorism Act (POTA) on February 7 after 300 kg of explosive
material was seized from their possession.
They were arrested at Komarada and Uliprivalasa mandals of the district on February
7 morning along with their sympathiser, police said.
District superintendent of police (DSP) Dr Soumya Mishra told reporters that
Chelluru Radra Murthy alias Naresh (21) and Vulka Pothayya alias Kishore (22) were
involved in several offences.
Mishra said Naresh were involved in 19 offences including Gotpaladra landmine blast
in Orissa in which 7 Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF) constables were
killed.
Vurkala Venkata Rao, a sympathiser of the naxalites, was arrested under APPS Act for
providing food and shelter to these ultras, he added.
