Srinagar: Terming the arrest of its activists in connection with funding of
militancy in Jammu and Kashmir as an attempt to malign the amalgam, Hurriyat
Conference on February 8 said it favoured early resolution of the Kashmir issue for
peace and prosperity in the sub-continent.
"Mischievous and unwisely acts are equivalent to disturbing peace. Therefore,
dialogue process among concerned parties should be initiated with responsibility and
understanding of the situation," Hurriyat said in a statement after day-long meeting
of its executive council.
"The contradictory statements attributed to Zamrooda Habib, a member of Hurriyat's
general council, by police (in connection with funding of separatist activities)
makes it clear that Hurriyat is being maligned under a well-thought out conspiracy,"
the statement said.
