Jammu: Indian and Pakistani troops exchanged firing in some sectors along the international border (IB) and the line of control (LoC) in Jammu and Kashmir, even as a police personnel wounded in the shelling on February 9 succumbed to injuries on February 10, official sources said.

Exchange of small arms intermittent firing between the two sides took place at several places along the IB in R S Pura, Samba and Arnia sectors on February 9 night without causing any casualty, they said.

Pakistani troops targetted some border outposts in Hiranagar sector of Kathua district for about half an hour on February 10 morning, they said.

The two sides exchanged heavy mortar shelling in Bhawani sector of Rajouri district.

Meanwhile, a police constable, Mohammad Shafiq, seriously injured in shelling by Pakistani troops in Balakote on February 9, succumbed to injuries in a hospital.
