Monday, February 10 103 20:34 Hrs (IST)

New Delhi: Delhi police have nabbed two associates of underworld don Dawood Ibrahim and busted a network of pumping in counterfeit currency printed in Pakistan into India through Nepal, police said on February 10.

Fake currency worth Rs 2.64 lakh was recovered from the two identified as Aleem Ahmed Zaidi alias Alimuddin (28) and Sayed Vishal Ahmed (32), they said.

During interrogation, Aleem, who allegedly brought the money from Nepal, said the currency had been given to him by one Asif alias Raja in the Himalayan Kingdom and the latter had received it from the operatives of Dawood and Tiger Memon, both wanted in the 1993 Mumbai bomb blasts, police said.
