New Delhi: Asking Pakistan not to hold peace hostage to violence, Deputy Prime
Minister L K Advani on February 11 said differences between India and Pakistan should
be resolved through dialogue and not war, covert or overt.
"Differences between India and Pakistan should be resolved through dialogue and not
by resorting to any kind of war, covert or overt. There should be dialogue to bridge
the gap but peace should not be held hostage to by violence," Advani said.
Addressing the concluding session of a two-day International Youth Conference on
Terrorism in New Delhi, being attended by delegates from 55 countries, he said,
"Proxy war and cross-border terrorism must stop. We are determined to end the
menace".
Advani said India was not averse to resumption of dialogue provided Islamabad put a
permanent end to cross-border terrorism.
