Bangalore: Mounting joint efforts, Karnataka and Tamil Nadu have made forest brigand Veerappan "run for cover now", Karnataka Chief Minister S M Krishna said.

"We are making Veerappan, who is hiding in the jungles, run for cover now. And together we have forged a united front to put an end to the menace," he told reporters after inaugurating the Connect II meet organised by the tourism department in Bangalore on February 11.

Between Cauvery and Veerappan, Karnataka has suffered. However, all endeavours are being made now to nab the notorious brigand. And the Cauvery crisis will also be resolved when the Cauvery river water disputes tribunal gives its final verdict, he said.

To a query as to when the "good news of Veerappan being nabbed will be given", Krishna quipped "You (media) will be the first to know."
