Kolkata: The BJP (Bharatiya Janata Party) vice-president Pyarelal Khandewal on
February 12 refused to comment on VHP's (Vishwa Hindu Parishad) demand for the entire
acquired area including the disputed site in Ayodhya, saying that his party wanted
handover of the 'undisputed land' over which the government has approached the
Supreme Court.
"Maybe it is VHP's demand. I do not want to react to it. The government has taken a
right step in approaching the apex court on the Ayodhya issue and we want an
expeditious solution," he told reporters.
His party was confining itself to the undisputed land, the BJP leader said referring
to VHP secretary general Praveen Togadia's comments on February 11.
He termed the Ram temple as a 'national issue', and said it must be constructed for
which necessary permission should be available.
