Hyderabad: IT-savvy Andhra Pradesh is in the process of setting up an unified call
centre to receive grievances from general public and seamlessly pass them on to the
concerned departments for necessary follow-up action.
Disclosing this while launching an e-Seva initiative for rural areas on February 12,
Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu said the proposed toll-free call centre, on the
lines of similar business models of trans-national companies, would enable the
government to provide a feedback to citizens on the follow-up action taken on their
complaints.
"The entire concept of government in future will undergo a radical change. The
governments will increasingly become flat and wired," Naidu said.
Stating that his government's vision was to utilise emerging wireless technologies
to provide services to citizens "anywhere anytime" and on any device, he said, "I
would like Andhra Pradesh to be at the cutting edge of technology. We should use the
best available technologies to achieve excellence in delivering citizen
services."
The Chief Minister earlier launched "OnLine Transaction Processing (OLTP), an e-Seva
project for the benefit of rural areas in Mahaboobnagar district. The project is
aimed at providing public access to a host of government services under one
roof.
