Kolkata: Kolkata will be the venue of the Asia-Oceania Group I second round Davis
Cup tie between India and New Zealand beginning April 4.
The outing, scheduled to be held at the lush green grass court of the Calcutta South
Club (CSC), would conclude on April 6, Bengal Tennis Association (BTA) treasurer
Hiranmoy Chatterjee told reporters on Wednesday. He said the winner of the tie would
qualify for the world group play-off.
India had carved out a facile 4-1 win over Japan in the Asia Oceania Group I first
round tie in New Delhi last week, while New Zealand trounced Pakistan 5-0 at
Hamilton.
Chatterjee said that the date of draw and logistics would be decided later.
