Patna: "The CBI (Central Bureau of Investigation) chargesheets might not have tamed
you, but beware of the people's court which has no room for bail," Bharatia Janata
Party (BJP) general secretary Pramod Mahajan has these words of caution for the
irrepressible Bihar strongman Laloo Prasad Yadav.
"Laloo got bail in the courts of Law but in the people's court there is no room for
bail.....Those undermining public interest find themselves in jail straightaway,"
Mahajan said addressing the first-ever convention of the state National Democratic
Alliance (NDA), which brought out a chargesheet against the Laloo-Rabri
regime.
"No chargesheet, not even by the CBI in the fodder scam could worry him, leave alone
the one brought by us...a man who could not be tamed by the courts will be tamed by
the people," he said.
"You get little justice and more dates in a court of Law... but the people's court
is unsparing...you commit a mistake, can get thrown out in a jiffy," Mahajan
said.
In his inimitable style, Mahajan recalled Laloo's assertion on becoming Chief
Minister in 1990 that Bihar roads would become as smooth as film icon Hema Malini's
cheeks and said, instead, a snoozing car-traveller is jolted out of his slumber on
entering pot-holed Bihar...despite being in the car you can enjoy the pleasures of a
camel-ride.
It is not a joyride for the people of Bihar living under RJD rule...After assurances
of all those smooth travel they are not prepared for a bumpy camel-ride, he
said.
