New Delhi: Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) has secured the deportation of
Ravendra Rastogi from Dubai, who is wanted in connection with the Rs 171 crore duty
drawback scam.
The CBI brought him to Mumbai on February 11 night from the port city in Gulf and
would be produced before a designated court for his remand, CBI sources said.
He is the second brother who has been arrested in the case. His elder brother,
Subash Rastogi, was arrested from Noida in September 2001, after the Singapore
authorities had cancelled his work permit at the behest of CBI.
The agency filed chargesheets against Ravendra in Chennai and Mumbai courts for
allegedly seeking false duty drawbacks on export consignments of bicycle parts,
which turned out to be only scrap material.
